SEDA New Homes Helps Our Furry Friends at the Jacksonville and Nassau Humane Societies

January 30th, 2023

SEDA New Homes, one of Jacksonville’s largest local home builders, made a substantial donation to both the Jacksonville and Nassau Humane Societies as a part of their Christmas Pet Food Drive.

“We wanted to support the Humane Society because they do so much to ensure that every pet has the opportunity to find a loving home,” said Linda Semanik, Vice-President of Sales at SEDA New Homes.

SEDA collected dog food, cat food, pet beds, pet toys, training pads and more at their model homes and corporate office during their Christmas Pet Food Drive. This month, Semanik and SEDA employees delivered these items to the Jacksonville and Nassau Humane Societies.

“Many companies choose a charity during the holidays to support,” says Semanik. “At SEDA, our pets are such a huge part of our families, that we knew we wanted to support the Humane Society.  Pets give us unconditional love and bring so much joy to our lives; something we all need in order to cope with the stress of today’s world. Our hope is that other companies will begin supporting their local Humane Society to help pets in need.”

The Nassau Humane Society has dogs, cats and other small animals for adoption. During the trip to bring the donations, SEDA employee Judy Reed fell in love with an adorable black rabbit that was up for adoption. Binks, as he is fondly now known by his new family, has brought so much joy and laughter to the Reed family.

“He’s just like a dog. He plays fetch, comes for treats and loves being petted.” says Reed. “Teaching our kids responsibility is a plus.”

Recently another SEDA employee adopted a kitten from the Jacksonville Humane Society.
